Aisle Runner

Aisle runners were first used to protect the hem of the bride’s wedding dress from dirt or mud and while today this is not required the tradition stuck.  Aisle running can be had in a variety of styles, colors, and materials, however, the most common remains the traditional white runner.  It is becoming more popular to have the aisle runner customized with elaborately styled monograms and bordered with petals.

Wedding Tip 4

One Venue or Two?

Many locations have the ability to be both a ceremony and reception venue, which means you don’t have to pay two separate location fees.  This will also give you the flexibility to have your wedding on a Sunday when most churches are not available. Your guests will also appreciate that they do not have to drive from the ceremony to get to the reception!

Wedding Tip 3

Wedding Planning Tip:

Before you set your wedding date you must reserve a reception venue and a ceremony location. If you have a significant date in mind you should book your venue 10 to 12 months in advance.

Wedding Tip2

Wedding Planning Tip:

When choosing a reception venue it is important to find out what’s included. Some banqueters provide meals, decorations and music in a ready to use hall, (e.g. chairs, tables, linen, tableware and service staff) while others simply offer an empty room, requiring you to take care of all the equipment rentals. These costs do add up pretty fast so try to find a one–stop banqueter.

Wedding Tip1

Wedding Planning Tip:

If you are planning to provide bar service at your reception it is important to find out the details of the banquet hall's alcohol policy.

The typical options are:

(1) An Open bar, where you pay per hour for unlimited bar access, this is also based on the number of guests and the type of liquor being served.

(2) A Consumption bar, where you pay for the amount of alcohol your guests consume.

(3) A Cash bar, where your guests pay for their own beverages. Option 1 and 2 can get very expensive, and option 3 can be in bad taste.

Some caterers allow you to provide your own bar stock which results in tremendous savings. Check it out!

Sand Ceremony

Symbolism of the Sand Ceremony:

wedding sand ceremony

As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be, united as one for all of your days.

Unity Candle

Symbolism of the Unity Candle:

lighting unity candle

The two distinct candle flames represent your lives before this day, individual, unique and special. As this new flame burns undivided, so shall your lives now be one. From now on your thoughts will always be for each other rather than your individual selves. Extinguish the two flames symbolizing your previous lives and you are forever united together in love.
